Shahab, who is about to get married, enters a business deal with his friend in order to improve his financial situation. However, he loses all his money and finds himself in financial hardship. Creditors chase him after he fails to repay the high interest rates he owes on the loan. His dad, a high school teacher, tries to help him, but his fiancé puts pressure on him. As a result, Shahab decides to do something very unusual.
Oktay Baraheni, was born in Iran. He studied film at York University in Toronto, and went on to Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto (LIFT) as an actor. Returned to Iran and worked as a producer, screenwriter, director, film critic and journalist. His filmmaking career includes short films such as «The Sofa», «The Groom», and «To the Butterflies» and the Screenplay for «Lavasan». «Bridge of Sleep» is the debut feature he wrote and directed in 2016.
